Seriously legit! I was a little worried when I got in line because it was really hot in line but the dining area was very nicely cooled. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. My family all got the special which was a real burger, fries and drink for $9. That might seem high but it is a large 6 oz burger, more fries than any of them could eat with it, and several of the topping options including the cheese are included. I ordered one of the most expensive options which was the patty melt and fries for $10. This was more food than any non-teenager or football player could eat (speaking as a fat person). Two patties for a whopping 12 oz of delicious chargrilled beef, a generous scoop of guacamole, rye toast, cheese, grilled onion, lettuce, tomato and the same large serving of fries. I ate four fries. The rest of my effort went to finishing this excellent burger. It was served deconstructed so I had to put it together, after which it was at my estimate 5"x4"x4" of surprisingly non-greasy but still flavorful goodness. Patty melts aren't traditionally served with guacamole but you won't hear me complain about this delicious deviation. The condiment bar is well appointed but wasted on me because the patty melt needs no enhancement. I think next time I will ask for a single patty version w/o fries if they can do that. And I need to see what they do with green chile because much as I love Santa Fe Bite I think that Real Burger could give them a good run for their (significantly less) money.

Everyone is right, the green chile cheeseburger is the way to go :) add a vanilla shake! And some of that creamy green sauce from the condiment bar :) The whole burger was tender; the fresh-made bun just fell apart in your mouth. Just the right balance of bun, cheese, chile, and meat. Definitely going to take friends and family when they come to visit!

Best cheeseburgers ever. Seriously. Every aspect of the burger is amazing. Super nice staff. Building is a little run down, but once you take the first bite, it's irrelevant.

Everyone told me to go here, it was alright. I did really enjoy the topping options and that I got to put them on myself from their "topping bar". Beef had good flavor, but I gotta say it was nothing special.

I was in the mood for a burger and stopped here while in Santa Fe. When you pull up, it seems like a bit of a hole in the wall, but it had good Yelp reviews, so I decided to give it a chance. I walked in ordered a Realburger with cheese and green chile and fries. She told me to sit in the dining area and she would bring my food out when it was done. I waited about 10 minutes or so and she brought my food out. When I got to my hotel and took a bite into the burger, I was highly disappointed. The burger was actually pretty big (circumference wise), but it didn't taste good at all. The meat just wasn't tasty, the green chile was the worse I've had, and there was way too much bun for the burger. I felt like I was just eating bread when I took a bite. I probably made it through 5 bites of the burger and decided I wasn't going to subject myself to anymore torture, so I threw it away. This place has terrible burgers and they will never get my business again.

Love the green chili stew, top notch! Real burger with green chili, mushroom and onion is also interesting.

Good reviews motivated me to try it out, but the burger almost wasn't worth eating. The burger was big and the condiment bar had some good selections. They even offer you grilled onions, mushrooms, cheese and chili at no cost extra charge and for a $7 burger that's pretty impressive but the burger was mostly bread (dry) with a dry, tasteless meat patty. The fries were limp. Instead of golden brown they were more of a dark brown glistening with lots of oil and no crunch at all. If you want a fairly inexpensive burger and you're not accustomed to dining in higher quality restaurants you may like it but I certainly won't be back.

Wow! What a great burger! I'm kind of new to Santa Fe and I'm finding new places to eat all the time. Today I found Realburger and it was "Love at first bite"! This is the best burger I've had since I moved to New Mexico from Texas 5 years ago. Cooked to order, customizable and juicy. You won't find a better burger any where else in Santa Fe. I know because I've tried all of the others already. Come try it and fall in love with an amazing burger!

For our last meal in Santa Fe on this trip, we went to Realburger for lunch. I loved this place immediately. You order at the window and the guy there was super helpful, leading us through our options. Obviously we went because we wanted burgers. Ms T had a straight cheeseburger. Bro J and I went for Green Chile Cheeseburgers with grilled onions. The special comes with a side and drink, so Ms T had sweet potato fries and I had their papitas. The GCCB was very good, my medium rare was not as grill crusted as Bode's in Abiquiu, but Ms T's medium well was. She had hers on a flour tortilla and really liked that option. I can see why this one is at the top of the Green Chile Cheese Burger heap in Santa Fe. It was very good, flavorful and well seasoned. I thought the bun was too big and dry at first, but it worked out well. They used a good amount of green chile. I loved the papitas which are small diced fried potatoes with a little oregano, I think. I really liked them, better than if I had had ordinary fries. I also ordered a side of carne adovada which was excellent with thinner, yet richly flavored adobo and I ended up combining the potatoes and carne for something special. This carne may have been the best among some very good examples on this trip. The pork was tender and juicy. My rankings for carne adovada on this trip are: 1 - Real Burger - very rich, thinner, more saucy 2 - Los Amigos - very rich, thick 3 - La Choza - rich flavors, in between consistency 4 - Chris' Café - well flavored, shredded 5 - Maria's - dry pork, dry sauce, but good flavor This is a great place with a diner like feel. The menu is not limited to the burgers though with a large selection of meats for burritos and tacos and some enchiladas. I was tempted to try a Real Chili Cheese Dog. I have to get back here.

Best Green Chile Cheeseburger. Period. Their $7. green chile cheeseburger puts to shame all the $11. and $12. burgers you'll find at fancier local restaurants. Also, the condiment bar is AMAZING!

This place makes the best burgers in Santa Fe, hands down. Consistently awesome! Tortilla burger and onion rings! Go!

My boyfriend and I were planning on going to a nice sit-down place for dinner, but after 10 hours in a car neither one of us wanted any part of that. Real Burger was highest rated no-frills place close to our adorable motel, and holy crap am I glad we took a chance on it. We both got Real burgers with pepperjack cheese and hatch chiles. You guys. I almost cried real tears at the first bite. The pepperjack isn't any of that processed crap, it is beautifully melty jack cheese with chopped peppers thrown on top. The patty isn't some long-frozen brick, it's fresh and flavorful. When I was done I was angry that I didn't have another one to stuff in my face. Please do yourself a favor and get a burger from this awesome little hole in the wall, you won't be disappointed!

Tasty local place. Try the tortilla or the sopapilla burger.

The food at Real Burger is fantastic, easily the best burger I've had in Santa Fe! My reason for 4/5 is because the staff are so-so and the atmosphere needs significant improvement. Also the last time I was there with friends they messed up on 3/3 burgers we ordered but they were still delicious! I will be back for sure!

Don't know how I've missed this place. It's kind of hidden, but seems to be a well kept secret. It's surprisingly hard to find a good burger in Santa Fe that isn't either a sit down restaurant or fast food chain. Came here starving so I ordered the super burger (12oz) and fries. Staff was really friendly and the cook even came out and checked to see if my burger turned out ok. Perfectly medium rare, juicy, good bun, and the fries were great. The fries could have used a bit more salt but no worries. They have a topping bar as well which is always a plus. This place is solid. Will be back.

While visiting Santa Fe, stopped in for an early dinner, the burgers are awesome. Had a green Chile cheeseburger cooked medium and it was tasty and juicy, cooked perfectly. Sides are pretty good too, we tried the onion rings, ribbon fries and sweetly potato fries, all three were excellent.

Thankfully, I was pretty much starving after a long drive when I stopped by this place, since I probably would have otherwise written it off, given its appearance. It reminded me of one of those dubious eating establishments in third world countries (seriously, this place would fit right in on a side street in Tijuana, with it's worn plastic tablecloths and mismatched chairs). But then I would have missed out on a pretty great burger and heaping plate of perfectly cooked sweet potato fries, with very pleasant service. Also, whatever $$ they're saving on decor they're passing on to the customers - prices were pretty reasonable (really not much more than you'd pay for a crappy, tasteless fast food burger). Recommended, if you don't care about ambience.

My wife, our three sons (ages 10 to 14), my mom, in-laws, and I cannot say enough good things about what the Chavez family has going at Cerrillos & Maez! ... The food is outstanding - the carne adovada and pork posole are the best we've had (tender, just the right amount of spice, and slow-cooked), and the calabacitas, shredded-chicken tacos, house-cut ribbon fries, and (of course) burgers are superb - and then there are the omelets, pancakes, malts, and shakes! ... Also, Real Burger pipes-in good music. ... Otherwise, while one of the people occasionally working the counter is a little nutty, Jose and the staff bringing plates to our table compensate for her, bending over backwards to make sure that we are happily taken care of. ... If there is any (very minor) drawback to Real Burger, it might be that counter service generally does not appeal to my family or that the atmosphere may be too casual for some diners. ... That being said, my family will be back time and again! ... Truly 5-plus stars!
